| Events and Projects I'm Involved In__________________ Salmon Nation Artist Project Here is the background: "Salmon Nation Artists Project is a tribute to the unique blend of communities, history and sustainable attitudes of the Salmon Nation bioregion. Over thirty artists represent these elements through poetry, music, stories, photographs and fine art in a unique auditory CD compilation and accompanying visual art booklet. The booklet is a tribute to the creative communities within the Salmon Nation bioregion and a culmination of over two years of collaboration between artists, individuals, organizations and community members. It consists of stories, poems, quotes and biographies of each participating artist, as well as 15 original works of fine art: stunning photographs, paintings and prints. The CD weaves Fisher Poets, Celilo Tribal Elders and singer/songwriters together, creating a unique blend of sounds and styles. The overlying message of Salmon Nation ties us back to the land, to our people, our communities and our future; a cultural thread singing a story we cannot tell on our own." -Alexa Wiley and Sarah Johnson - Producers and Designers of the CD |
