"Are we there yet?" - An original soft pastel.
Background artist thoughts and motivation: I thought of the classic summer vacation where you're moving along and it's an organized chaos, feeling like a circus, but trying your best to move forward and get to your destination. All the while, the questions keep flying, "Are we there yet?!"
Moose: represents adults/parents/creative-makers:We carry so much responsibility and so much depends on us pushing ahead. Navigator squirrel:The one who looks ahead, fearless and the go-getter. Bubble squirrel: The playful muse, keeping us buoyant and reminding us to not get too serious. Reading squirrel:Life is one long lesson of learning everyday. *I was inspired by the famous artist, Bob Ross, who loved squirrels and sometimes painted on TV while carrying one on his shoulder or in his shirt pocket. Fighting rabbits:Into everyone's life there is the chaos that happens. Behind the scenes it feels like a circus, but eventually we arrive and hope to make that grand entrance like a moose walking tall. And yes, we are almost there. The original was done with soft pastels and pastel pencils on an Ampersand Pastelbord.. ©Mimi Matsuda
